Our Inspiration...Erin Catherine Potter
Erin is the second of three beautiful daughters in the Potter family.  She is an inspiration to us and all those who know of her three courageous battles with Leukemia.

Erin's first battle with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia began on February 27, 2007 when she was just a little over 3 years old.  After 2 1/2 years of chemotherapy at University Hospital's Rainbow Babies & Children's Hospital and the Ireland Cancer Center (now the Seidman Cancer Center), Erin was cancer-free for 19 months.

On February 10, 2011 it had been discovered that her cancer returned.  This meant that she needed a bone marrow transplant.

Remarkably, the new baby in the Potter family, Mary, was Erin's perfect match for this procedure.  Thanks to the wonderful advice of Dr. Jeff Auletta, Erin's hematologist/oncologist, Erin's parents saved Mary's cord blood, and that is what Dr. Auletta used to save her life.

On June 7, 2011, after very intense chemotherapy and radiation, Erin received what the family liked to call "a high dose of her baby sister" that had been thought to have saved her life.

She was an 8-year-old recovering at home, happy and healthy.

Sadly, on March 2, 2012, her parents found out that her cancer had returned for the third time.  Today she is on another road to recovery.  She has had her 2nd bone marrow transplant on July 18, 2012.  This time her donor was a stranger willing to give the family the greatest gift...another chance for Erin to grow up with her sisters.

Follow her through her journey by visiting her website.  See again why these rooms are so important.  Help the Potters give back.  Help those who will be here like Erin.  There are more bone marrow transplants happening each year...more miracles like Erin's.  Help the future families who have to travel down this rough road.
